Mansu Jung
Trombone Instructor
Trombonist Mansu Jung has enjoyed a diverse his career as a soloist, chamber musician, recording artist, live performer and jazz musician. After studying both jazz and classical music, Mr. Jung acquired expertise in many genres and he became one of the most in-demand musicians in the music scene. Over the last 20 years, he has performed in distinguished live concerts and jazz festivals, often playing alongside internationally famous musicians such as Michael Bolton, PSY, JYP, Bum-soo Kim, Gun-mo Kim and many other famous K-pop musicians.
Mr. Jung has recorded over 30 albums for major labels including EMI, Sony Music. Most of the albums are bestselling and have reached the top 5 on the K-pop chart.
Currently, He is a music director of the New York Korean Jazz Orchestra and he serves as a principal trombone of the Queensboro Symphony Orchestra and New York Wind Orchestra. Also he performs regularly in such prestigious venues as Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center and Lefrak Concert Hall in NYC.
Born in Seoul, South Korea, Mr. Jung holds a Bachelor’s degree in music from Yonsei University and he completed his Master’s degree in jazz performance from Queens College.
